Strawberry purée is a necessary ingredient in many different baking recipes, one of my favorites being this strawberry cupcake recipe. Because of its popularity, you sure can find it at your local supermarket.
Why make strawberry purée at home?
Well, like most other things, store brought strawberry purée doesn’t compare to the homemade version. The sweet berry smells will fill up your home, and the fresh berry flavor will take over your taste buds! You will not regret making this stuff from scratch.
What do you need to make strawberry purée?
All you need is strawberries, sugar, and a lemon! I like to add some lemon zest for that extra ZING and lemon juice to help preserve the purée and bring out the strawberry flavors.
