After 17 years as the beloved host of Bravo TV’s Emmy Award-winning competition, reality show, “Top Chef,” Padma Lakshmi is “packing her knives”.
Last month, Lakshmi announced on her instagram that season 20 would be her final season as host. However, “Champagne Padma,” will continue to play host to America’s living rooms on her new Hulu show, “Taste the Nation.”
I am extremely proud to have been part of building a successful show and the impact it has had on the worlds of television and food. I feel it is time to move on and make space for ‘Taste the Nation’, my books, and creative pursuits.

New “Top Chef” Host Announced
“Top Chef” did not disappoint its loyal fans, though. Last week they announced fan favorite and former “Top Chef” champ, Kristen Kish would take the reins as the new host. She will join chef Tom Colicchio and writer Gail Simmons at the judges’ table for season 21 in Wisconsin.

Kish, who won season 10 of “Top Chef,” has not only been a guest judge on the show, but has also added a slew of accolades to her resume since her win.
She currently hosts her own show on Disney +, “Restaurants at the End of the World,” and was co-host of, “Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend,” on Netflix. Kish also collaborated with Yobo Soju to create a new line of modern apéritifs called Yobo Kish.
Not only is Kish on TV and with her own line of spirits, but she published a cookbook in 2017 titled Kristen Kish Cooking: Recipes and Techniques: A Cookbook.
Kish is receiving praise from the LGBTQ+ community as she will be the first openly queer host of “Top Chef.”
Top Chef is where I started my journey—first as a competing chef, then a guest judge and now as host…It feels like coming home.
