“Too soon? Too late. We’re taking the lead in manifesting cooler days. Sorry ‘bout it.” This is the message that appears on the home page of the official 7-Eleven website. On August 1st, 7-Eleven welcomed back the cardigan-and-Uggs season 1 month and 23 days early with the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Why so early?
With subtle cinnamon and pumpkin flavors in a perfect seasonal package, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is easily a holiday staple for the fall season. Still, the latte is a limited-time item. And the only problem is that one has to wait all year to enjoy it.
Eager customers have been doing just that for years. With the Fall season never seeming to come soon enough. And according to the official press release from the chain, 7-Eleven executives seem to agree. “We decided to break out the pumpkin a little bit early this year,” said 7-Eleven’s Senior Vice President, Dennis Phelps.
These fall flavors include…
- Pumpkin Spice Latte: Beginning with the classic that invites customers to “sip on seasonal spices atop a creamy pumpkin-flavored latte all autumn long”.
- Pumpkin Coffee: A way for everyday coffee drinkers to upgrade their cup with a fall touch. “Try our Pumpkin Somethin’ recipe hack by adding two pumpkin spice and two sweet and creamy creamers to any hot or iced coffee.”
- Pumpkin Syrup: And the essence of the pumpkin goodness with “…over 3,000 ways to customize their drink to their liking using flavored syrups, creamers, toppings and more.”
Additionally, if you’re looking to pair something with a PSL, 7-Eleven is also releasing a limited time Apple Cider Donut. Along with the Apple Danish and the Apple Snack Pie for just $1 for Rewards members. There is even the Apple Muffin, coming later this month.
Embracing Autumn with pumpkin spice!
The latte’s arrival is a surprise, but certainly more pleasant than shocking. Perhaps a Pumpkin Spice Latte is the perfect dash of Fall for the last weeks of summer. It’s true, it doesn’t quite feel like sweater-weather. But even so, there’s no reason one shouldn’t be able to enjoy the taste of Autumn early!
Or, as Dennis Phelps puts it, “It may not quite feel like fall outside yet, but it sure can taste like fall as we enjoy the first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season.”
