There’s nothing like an ice cold morir sonando on a hot summer day, and this lime morir sonando is such a good way to twist things up.

It’s very similar to how I prepare classic morir sonando, but instead of fresh orange juice I am using lime juice.

A morir sonando and a tostada

The ultimate combo is a morir sonando and a delicious sandwich. Some of my favorites are tres golpes sandwich, frikitaki, and rikitaki.

Use fresh squeezed or bottled lime juice

I love using freshly squeezed lime juice because they’re inexpensive and have a stronger lime flavor than bottled lime juice. But if that’s all you have on hand, that will work perfectly fine! Just make sure you chill it very well with ice before mixing it with the evaporated milk.

Ice is such an important ingredient here

You can’t have a morir sonando without ice. I love adding extra ice while serving this too, but the key is to drink it pretty quickly because you also don’t want to water down your drink!
